The new Vikas Children’s Park was inaugurated at the HP State War Memorial Dharamshala by the President of Tibet (Sikyong), Mr Lobsang Sangay on 11 March 2021.

The park has been completely refurbished, renovated and expanded as a goodwill gesture by the Government of Tibet in the name of His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, to the people of Dharamshala. The Government of Tibet spent 18 lakhs on the project.

The Finance Minister of Tibet, Mr Karma Yeshi was also present. After the inauguration, the Government of Tibet hosted tea for all present.

The President of the Governing Council of the HP State War Memorial, Col K K S Dadwal (Veteran), on behalf of the members of the Governing Council, who were also present, thanked the Government of Tibet for their gesture and spoke of the close ties between the people of India and Tibet. He also offered his good wishes and prayers for an early resolution of the Tibet issue.

Mr Lobsang Sangay also lauded the close ties between India and Tibet, which date back thousands of years. He signed the Visitor’s Book before he left
