Kargil Vijay Diwas 2023 was celebrated at the HP State War Memorial Dharamshala on 26 July 2023.

Station Commander Dharamshala, Brigadier KYPS Sambyal was the Chief Guest.

The DC and other members of the civil administration attended the solemn event.

A large number of veterans, ladies, and members of the public were present.

On the solemn occasion, wreaths and floral offerings were made to honour those noble souls who had laid down their lives to in evicting the Pakistani Army, which had surreptitiously and treacherously occupied Indian territory in 1999.

A guard of honour reversed arms, and two minutes of silence was observed by all in memory of the fallen soldiers.

A painting competition for children on the theme of Kargil Vijay Diwas had been organised leading up to the day. The winners were awarded prizes by the Chief Guest.
